Trim Tab 520L - Retrofit Kit

The Päijän fiberglass trim tab improves the boat’s handling when used with an outboard motor. It adds stability, comfort and control, especially when using a larger outboard motor suitable for a Päijän rowing boat.

The trim tab helps prevent the stern from sitting too low when driving with a motor and reduces bow rise. This improves forward visibility, makes handling more balanced and adds stability in turns.

The trim tab is available for Päijän 471, 471L and 520L models. It can also be installed on an older Päijän boat.

Available as a Retrofit Kit

The Päijän fiberglass trim tab is supplied as a retrofit kit. The package includes:

• fiberglass trim tab
• adhesive
• required fastening accessories
• installation instructions

Installation must always be carried out according to the instructions supplied with the kit.

Better Handling and Added Stability

When a motor is your choice for a Päijän rowing boat, the trim tab makes driving more stable and comfortable. The boat runs in a better position, the bow stays lower and forward visibility improves.

In a test carried out with the Päijän 471 model, the trim tab also increased the maximum speed with a 4 hp motor when driven alone, from approximately 12 km/h to approximately 15 km/h.

Warranty and Installation

For newer boats that are still under warranty, we recommend factory installation to keep the warranty valid. If the trim tab is installed by the customer, damage caused by incorrect installation is not covered by the warranty. Regarding the installation area, the warranty does not cover damage resulting from installation errors.
